New York pharmaceutical giant Stewart Rahr is reportedly getting a divorce from his wife of 43 years. While Rahr has describe the divorce as amicable, it is difficult to foresee matters going smoothly, especially when you consider the size of Rahr's fortune. The pharmaceutical kingpin, who did not enter into a prenuptial agreement with his wife, is worth more than a billion dollars, most of which he acquired during the 2010 sale of Kinray Pharmaceuticals.

There are a number of factors that play into property division, such as the length of the marriage, the amount acquired during the marriage, the state where the couple resides, and, most importantly, whether there is a prenuptial agreement.
